Hired! :: Jon the Bartender

AlcoholAlright, so we could have contracted the whole bar out, but that was going to be really EXPENSIVE.

Instead, we found a friend of a friend (thanks, Alvin!), who used to handle a lot of the house parties I didn’t tell my mom and dad I was at. (hi mom and dad!)

Jon is so great so far, I just have to decide if I want to buy the alcohol myself or give him and list and have him bring it.

In the end, I’m so blessed that Crestmore Manor is so flexible that we can do things like this.

::sigh:: …photography..

Marrying one who is well-versed in photography has its ups and downs:

ups : we know what to look for and what to be put off by

downs : choosing a photographer seemed to take forever to find a compromise between his more traditional style and my love of the more recent photojournalistic photography.

Finally, we found ICA Photography.

They had full packages with prints and magazine style albums, since we didn’t want to go through all the trouble of putting everything together ourselves. They were within what we planned on spending on photography and I LOVED their vibrant style.

I also love that our package includes two canvases. Can’t wait to see how they turn out!

Hired! :: Wendy’s Divine Weddings

I found Wendy Alexis through the Inland Empire Association of Bridal Consultants website after speaking to three or four other wedding planners.

She’s got a tiny office in Riverside off the 91 and Central. In fact, here’s her info:
Wendy Alexis, PBC™
Divine Designs, Event and Wedding Design
3380 La Sierra Ste. 104-144
Riverside CA 92503 USA
Email: ddweddingsandevents@earthlink.net
Phone: 951-352-8186

Wendy was the first wedding vendor I spoke to who wasn’t pushy, I felt comfortable with, and the FIRST wedding planner to get this question right:

“It seems as if most day-of wedding planners offer many of the same things. What sets you apart from other wedding planners?”

Wendy’s answer was something like, while wedding planners, of course, should be quick to respond, fulfill their duties, and have a back up plan, it really comes down to the relationship you have with your planner and whether you feel you have a good relationship.

And I did!

I met Sherelle nearly 7 years ago, but didn’t see her again for another 5.  When I did, it was over for me and life as I knew it.

We instantly fell in love with each other, and I knew before the second date that I was going to marry this fine example of a woman.  Two more fantastic and exciting years passed and here we are: engaged at long last.

We think we have an awesome relationship and would be honored if you, all of our dear family and friends, would share in celebrating our union with us.  We’re shooting for October 2010, so come back now and again (or subscribe!) and we’ll keep you posted.  Maybe you can even help us plan it…otherwise Google might end up being the best man.
